Why must we wait for x-pack to fix..

I haven't played many RTS games but this certainly is the worst one for pathfinding.

I played Blk_Pnthr the other day and i was under attack by some cannons. So i sent my artillery. The battle was just below them, so i clicked for them to move forward a few inches on the map to attack his cannons - but no....they decided to take the route past the fortress and get destroyed.

He didnt understand what they were upto, and i didnt either.

Also, i think that Air units should AUTOMATICALLY fire at any trooper AA or heavy AA rather than sit there to be destroyed as they r too busy taking out something more important, like a wall!

I dont see why we HAVE to wait for the x-pack to fix problems that shouldnt have been there when the game went on sale.

If you set your troops to aggressive stand, they will attack anything that moves within their line of sight. They should move close enough to fire without alot of micromanaging. However, they will go out to meet on coming units on this stance mode. Experiment between agressive and defensive stances.

I personally am waiting for a fix to the mulitplayer out of sync problem. Everytime my brother and I start a TCP/IP game, a few seconds into the game it gets an out of sync error and quits. Upon restoring the game, it works fine. This has happened every game we have played (10+ MP games).

Did you click on the mini map if you did then you might have order them to go into trees making them go around and around getting as close as possible to the tree. If you order them to move forward a few inches on the main screen and nothing was in their way and that wasn’t the shortest path. Then it’s a bug not bad path finding. And I for one in about 50+ games have had no problems with path finding at all.

To me, this spoils the game at times, especially in large battles when every unit counts.

Personally, I would like to see each Civ actually have a Special unit that is tough to counter. At the moment, every unit seems to be the same, as mentioned in other posts - so it would be nice to actually give each civ something different in terms of combat, rather than just microfarming.

Let's make the AT-AT walker be able to withstand firepower from 10 Wookiee repeaters (how that sucks!) - give the Gungans a proper shield that we can't shoot through, until we are inside the shield maybe - I could go on!

But it would have been better if we got a 1.2 patch before the x-pack was released to fix the bugs.

AT-AT already owns 10 repeaters it's called slapsh and they have high armor like 8+3 for ranged attack.

That would badly unblaance the game the sheilds area is small meaning you would need to run a long way before you got inside it (if you could) also any sheild will give out under heavy enough firepower.

I have yet to lose a battle or even see this happen but that just me.
