Does anyone know how to make the sound work on Dark Forces? Also, I need some JK help

I just started playing the original Jedi Knight agian while I waited for Jedi Outcast, and I decided to try and play Dark Forces... Everything worked fine expet for the sound.. does anyone know how to fix that? The sound just flat out makes no noise... it's not messed up sounds, just no sound at all.

 

I'm using a sound blaster live card aswell... if it makes any difference.

 

On a side note... Does anyone else notice a ton of bugs in Jedi Knight? For example... Whenever I quicksave on the "gork and pic" level right after I kill gorc, the game boots me to the desktop. Everytime I try reload the level it says "Could not load level". This has happened to me on my old P3 comp, and on my new computer as well... So it doesn't seem to be a problem with my current computer. Does anyone know how to fix this?

 

Another bug I noticed was how if I quicksave right as I'm putting force speed on that the noise of force speed lasts the entire level, even after it wears off... Also, when I do turn force speed on it makes an overlapping noise of 2 force speeds going at the same time... Does anyone know how I might fix this?
