***EP2 spoiler alert***ForceLightning=darkside power???

I heard the same.

Yoda catches the lightning and rebounds it upon Darth Tyrannus, aka Dooku.

An 100% act of defense. It'd be nice if something like that was incorporated into JK2. Could've been a good counter to lightning instead of just healing yourself. But I'm not complaining, :), this game is awesome as it is.

I do not think Yoda would use force lighting. That's always going to be the dark side power. I believe the scene in question has Yoda catching the lightning and sending it back at Dooku.

Just adding something to that...

Kyle Katarn is a true "outcast."

He's seen both sides of the Force and is known to use the force aggresively (lightning, etc., as we see in the trailers) but for good and "light-side" purposes.

By doing this he's not really a Dark Jedi... a new breed, I guess. So he's free to do whatever... :)

Goo! the new jedi order series is getting me angry. FIrst, some no-name author goes off and kills Chewbacca which pissed me off royally (BTW: imho that book blowed) Then this whole "Yuzhan Vong" thing is so dumb. It should have ended 4 books ago. And now it turns into a soap opera with Mara having Luke's baby. The only books that were good were by Michael A. Stackpole. I've given up hope with the NJO series. I'm not wasting my money anymore.

You gotta read the Timothy Zahn books. Excellent reading.

And I'm not sure Yoda 'whips' on Dooku, who does get away from my understanding. But Yoda does win. I heard Yoda is very tired after the 'clash'.

i dont think the line between the dark and light can be blurred

remember? "once you tread down the dark path forever will it dominate your destiny"

its not something to be taken lightly like in the bollocksy NJO books where people jump from one side to the other when ever they want.

seriously, Jaina being able to throw lightning (an ability we've onlys een in the emperor- the character deepest in the darkside in the star wars universe) after getting a bit tiffed is a joke.

and the yjoung vong (or whatever) suck for the sole reason that they can stand up to a jedi in one on one single combat- that just destroys the whole star wars concept of the jedi being superhuman fighters.

My advice is to just stay away from the novels. Nothing Star Wars about it... 'cept for the cover, the characters, and (unfortunately) the LFL logo. ;)

Not bashing on anybody here, just my opinion.

True. It's fun to read novels about things we like. But remember that what LUCAS creates is the sole source for Star Wars. He said that he would not respect the universes created by these authors and 3rd parties. Enjoy the cannon, if you will, but do not take them as fact in the SW universe. It is only one author's interpretation of the SW universe.

cool pic, yoda is the man!

about the NJO books, the line being blurred between dark and light is mainly because of the dividing in the order. Luke is the one trying to preserve the image of jedi as defenders and protectors. on the other hand a group of jedi led by Kyp Durron wants to attack first and get vengeance for the friends theyve lost. I like the idea of the Vong being strong, yes the Jedi are superhuman warriors and could probaly kick vong @$$ if they didnt exist within the force. they come from a seperate galaxy where they use biological weapons and are trained from birth to be the perfect warriors and to honor death in battle. the vong are voids in the force plus their weapons and armors resist lasers and lightsabers. a jedis main advantage is to read your opponent thoughts and use the force against him, but what if you take that advantage away.......alot harder to defeat. i like it, makes battles more intense and actually care for characters more because you know they could die. i.e Corrans duel with a Vong commander in Dark Tide: Ruin
