"if you bid for this game, you are breaking the law not me" he's wrong .. which is why its even funnier. you can backup a cd if u own the original cd.. but for your own personal private use. you CANNOT sell/lend/give away, it at all. if you sell your original copy of the game/software, you must destroy the backup. gotta love idiots.

Read the disclaimer before stating something like that. I haven't but if it's anything like the one from RtCW it states it is only legal to install the game on the hard disk and that is regarded as your backup copy.

sinistervw Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 i had the origional JK and my #1 cd broke and my HDD crashed a lil later i was going to get a replacement cd but they wanted 5$ and then there was S&H wich i could have just got the JK/MotS pack for that price....so i was like screw it i already own it so i try downloading JK just to find out i spent 3 days downloading a Demo! Its Illegal and i wont do it today (i was young asnd had no respect for Copy rite stuff back then!
Kuroshi Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Amorpheus, you're assuming that the publisher will still be in business as well as still have original copies of the game when our disks fail. It might take years, but it's legal to make a backup copy, so no problem.

You gotta support the people that bring you the things you love! May the Force be with them.
