stuck at the start

on the first level, when you enter a large chamber there is a console in the middle, but its off line, all rooms leading from this area are locked,

when i go down to the room with the force field blocking the door, there is no way through.

what do i do

Remember the dark storage room, underneath the room where you get the low-light goggles? Your answer is there. follow the mouse droid.
