Jordus1587246506
i was playing the last mission of the wookie training mission when i built the fortress....which makes Quigon fly in on his air taxi....just as he got there i declared war on royal naboo and blew his taxi out of the sky......only to recieve "Mission Failure" LOL!............i played the mission again...and let me tell you...its plain dumb...it teaches you nothing...the TF attacks with about 5 mounte troops....and the pop limit is 75........in my professional opinion, (an AOK player for years and AOE player for years) i beleive the only way to get good at this RTS is to play religiously online and pick up on Expert's techniques......if your playing DM, its all about the speed.....if your RM....its all about the tech 4 boom.......to be an expert you should reach tech for in 23 minutes....no more.....maybe a bit less if your supa ..........if you would like to see someone acheive imperial in 23 minutes in AOK simply goto planetageofempires.com and click around the strategy things........it takes PRACTICE to get good..seeing as most of us here are just star wars fans and not hardcore RTS'ers we cant expect to pick up this game and own everyone......i myself love star wars, but have in depth perceptions and skills from AOE/AOK/AOC/ROR........of course im nowhere near the best but i sitll have higher skills than the majority of the people that play this game.......im hoping skill will develop in this game fast so we can have good tourneys and such......if anyone wants a friendly DM just post a reply leaving your ZN.....im also up for 2v2s....... Guest Kudar
I can only hope that our skills get better as we play online more and more. I spent 5 hours on Sunday in the Zone, playing in new and intermediate games, winning 4 out of 4 (well 3, for some reason we played 2 v 2 with the monument and allied victory wasn't selected) but after them I kinda felt like I'd been bashing newbies, but I wouldn't class myself as any good - not yet anyway
Gungan_Reble
You are right I found out with AOE & AOK the only way to get realy good is to play on line MP or DM games but the problem with that is that when you do get good at the game some of your mate's will no longer play you my point is you can actually get so competitive with a game the game is no longer about FUN but about thrashing everyone you play and that can work against you just my opinion of course;)
Paragon_Leon
...which is spot on. I like a challenge now and then, but haven't found it that much lately in RM-games. Jordus; you are wrong in suggesting that in AOK, it's all about a Tech 4 (Imperial) boost in RM; it's about boosting from Feudal Age onward, period. Guest crd_polaris
I've been waiting a long time for Lucas to make a RTS out of starwars. Force Commander was dissappointing for the simple fact that it wont even play on my system, suprizing considering I have 120+ megs over the required memory. I started playing RTS before age of the empires. I bought one of the very first ones, Dune I think. Then I started to get into warcraft and starcraft. Now I own a whole shelf full of RTS games. My SW game is in the mail and it should come before the end of the week. Can't wait. It shouldn't be hard to learn cosidering I understand the AOK and AOE system engines. I think it's cool that this game will have ground, air, and water units. It will make for some diverse statagies.

Jordus1587246506
Paragon.....i was stating IMPERIAL BOOM NOT BOOST..........if your playing as an effective imperial civ (Huns, TF, Pers)......then you need to put up minimal defenses and BOOM yourself with nothing but rezzing until you hit imperial and then whomp your opponent in minutes while he is in castle or fuedal (if he sucks)....its a almost touch strat to get down rather than rushing out of fuedal age..... SimonW
The training campaigns are to just teach you the basics, and new feutures inthe game. Not to make you any expert.
