Morat Posted April 2, 2002 Posted April 2, 2002 Like many people I'm having problems creating a non-dedicated server for myself and friends to play on. When I start the server it doesn't list on the master list or all-seeing-eye, and no-one can join directly on my IP. Interestingly, if I start Zonealarm and try creating the server I never get the expected message that the program is requesting server rights. I have a suspicion that the server type control on the setup screen should read Botmatch instead of non-dedicated, because starting a non-dedicated server doesn't seem to create a server which is visible to anyone. Has anyone worked around this? What sort of performance am i going to get if I connect to my own dedicated server on the same box?
MatrixCPA Posted April 2, 2002 Posted April 2, 2002 ZoneAlarm restricts access even when it's off. Try the following: Open up ZoneAlarm Click on the "Program" Tab Find JO and have ZoneAlarm let JO act as a server -or- use this setting: JK2Ded.exe: Allow connect: Local+Internet, Allow server: Local+Internet, Pass lock: off btw, are you using ZoneAlarm Pro or the Free version?
