Question about FPS/drivers.

Retro

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if I should be getting more than 20 FPS with an 800mhz duron, 512 ram, GeForce2 GTS 32MB, running on win 98 SE, using low details. I was thinking maybe it's my drivers, but I dont know which ones I'm supposed to get, since I heard I dont want the latest ones, I also dont know which drivers I currently have. Any help here would be hot.

lo, Try downloading the last drivers from nvidia.com its true that the newest drivers arent working for some but i have a Herculed Geforce3 myself and having no problems wiv them at all.

Tocheck what drivers you are currently usin: click right mousebutton at your desktop goto properties and goto the last tab (soz got dutch version so think wiv me on this one;) than press on advanced settingsand if I'm correct you will see standin your geforce2 card standin there somewhere.

When clicked on that tab the drivers can be read down :)

On that same tab you can go down and click on more settings or summin like that and goto opengl properties make sure they are standard set to always off.

Further more when in multiplayer get down your console and type: seta com_maxfps and see what its set at.

Hope I you succes wiv it,

grtz... dis

( icq me if you want on 85538085 if you cant figure it out I will make screens for you than ;)

Well I got a 1.4Ghz Athlon, 512 ram, GeForce2 GTS 32MB DDR Ram (overclocked by 15%) and running on win 98 SE. I can have everything on maximum until I get to an outdoor area when I have to reduce the texture detail to high. Its annoying, but it works for me. You should be able to put the texture detail to at least Medium though. Having shadows on simple and not volumetric will help alot also.
