Might be handy if you said where you want the server to be. I think most countries have ISPs where you can rent gaming servers.

The best way to find out what ISPs are good for you is to play on their servers. A lot of times ISPs don't list that they have gaming servers on their websites. Just look in the server list in JK2. A lot of servers have internet addresses in the title.

you can rent Padgamer.com server. the server is up almost all the time and rental prices are cheap. charges are by the hour but are pretty cheap. located in florida.

I went to the site and it said that you are not renting JK servers because of a stupid bug they didn't fix with the Q3 engine.

 

 

Any idea when you will be renting them again???

Unfortunately, there is an exploit that will take down jk2 servers as often as an abuser wishes too.

 

We give the people renting the server full control over it, with the ability to ftp files or use a web interface to upload/edit/delete files... along with starting, stopping and restarting the server.

 

I'm sure if anyone wants to rent a server under those conditions (that uptime will vary and the server would need to be monitored by the people renting) we would be more than happy to accomodate them.

 

We were just hoping for a rather quick point release (at least for servers) to address this issue.

We are renting jk2 servers, ignore the web page concerning that.

 

They are a 'run at your own risk' type of deal though.. and like I mentioned before, you have full control to stop/start the server through a web interface as often as you like.

Alright.. I've VERY new to the Q3 world... I'm coming from HL/CS.

 

If that program is used and crashes our server, we can just restart it, right? It doesnt do any perm damage like to config files or anything?

I was getting 25-35 fairly consistantly.

Ilangame is also renting JK2 servers. 12 man public starts at about 39 bucks i think. They dont have a form up fo rit, but the specs and prices will be the same as they are for Q3 and all youd have to do is fill out the Q3 form and make a note that its for JK2 in the comments field.

You might want to check out Descrypt , I use them for my RTCW server.. I'm thinking of changing it to JK2 though. The prices are excellent, and the location is great for me. They have servers in TX and NY. Pings are always sub 70 for me.. Give them a try..

yeah, http://www.razorhosts.com has awesome deals right now and their servers own hard!! Not many people know of them yet. I just discovered them the other day and ordered a UT server.
