I have refrained from posting in this thread due to my inability to view the pictures posted within it, but on page 6 you posted links I could finally access, and I must say good work. I am waiting anxiously for word of its release.

I have faith in these two as well...I've not seen them "in action" so to speak, but from the work they've been doing with their respective models, I'm not worried in the least about their work eventually coming to fruition. :D Patience is a virtue indeed. To anyone who says different, I say, "I find your lack of faith disturbing." :vadar:

Seems like I shouldn't have posted... the pics right after my post look a LOT better, for real. And don't be callin' me a retard or askin' for a better Vader, I said I never done any editing! Few suggestions though (If you even care for my comments after everybody else praises your work to high heavens and I bring it down with a slam... (Sorry 'bout that. Didn't mean to insult no-one.)):

1. The mask in the photos seems to be a bit wider and not quite so tall as yours. Or maybe it's the width only... Others said this as well. (HA! In your face! I DO read what other people say!)

2. The eye holes, lenses, whatever they are he has in front of his eyes; they're a bit tilted in the model.

3. Minor point: the hands. Gloves are missing. (I'm sure you know this though.) I really don't even care 'bout this.

^^^^Those things based on movie pics.^^^^

To some of you these things may seem as petty as can be, but when we're talking Darth Vader, I'm a perfectionist. I'm talking Dr. Dre perfectionist. If I had some l33t editing 5|<illz I'd do a perfect one myself, but since I don't have any, I'm counting on other, more skilled, people.

its ok t-dogg, i must say your post before was a bit... on the offensive side but i didn't mind it too much. The only thing that bothered me was that you didn't say exactly what was wrong. You only said "Look at vader again" basically, that wasn't exactly pointing me in the right direction. I do appreciate criticism so long as it can help, and from how it was put before, it seemed like more of a slam than anything else. Now this post is a bit better, i don't care for people blowing smoke up my ass, i'd much rather have someone say something like "The torso looks waaaaay out of proportion" or "his arms are too damn long, he looks like a monkey" etc, since that can help me improve the model

:)

and as for progress, i haven't modified vader yet since those pics... been too busy playing around with trying to import custom models

;)

once we (blood and i) have anything to report we will definitely let u guys know

Good effort, sithlord,... the new model looks more like Vader... THE Vader. The helmet looks quite correct, but still his nose may be too pushed...

And I got to quote Evan: Take your time, Say "Finish", when you think it's finished! And if it takes two months... Dig your time, man!

Keep it up.

well if i can get the cape in there i will, right now the only way would be to add it to the model and bind it to the skeleton so it animates with the arms and legs, etc

won't animate like a cape but it won't be like a cardboard cutout neither

as for what i'll do after this, i have no idea but once i do you can bet i'll post it up here. I'll wait until i am finished with vader and satisfied with how he looks, then i'll look at where to go

and with boba, i've seen what blood is doing for boba, in progress, and it's actually looking pretty good so don't count it out

:)

blood and i are actually working together on how to get models into this game, once we have any info or tutorials or anything we will definitely post them in here

i'm keeping track of what suggestions you guys make, and i'll use that pic u gave me mr spanky for reference, should help me on some proportioning

yeh the bloody thing is low polycount but it was the only way i could get it in the game.

it will be better when i get a skeleton made for it so it blows up and down in the wind.

as some have already seen, others have begun putting files into modview and the game itself... i have not tested this within the game, and mind you this is not the full vader model... but take a look, i'd like to think this is promising

:)

http://www.geocities.com/sithlordiii2001/vader_modview.txt

i will test it ingame tomorrow, haven't had the chance to yet

right now i just did a quick import, had to re-weigh all vertices, and i replaced kyle's head with vader's. After this, the only logical step is completely replacing kyle

well time for bed for me, been workign on this alot today already

:)
