Morbo
I'm all for supporting companies and buying games and against piracy and all that jazz, hell I work SEGA of America, for god's sake. Despite the fact that you all hate piracy and you think its uncool and you don't respect people who do it and blah blah blah, ***** ***** *****, there is, in reality, NO WAY TO STOP IT! So it doesn't matter what you say, who you say it to or how many TIMES you say it, nothing will happen, nothing will be accomplished, and nothing will take place to ATTEMPT to change it. You see the probelm is that people are SMART and as soon as a company releases a new anti-piracy gimmick, theres at least 50 people that get a hold of it the first day and break it down so they can look through all of it, and in 3 days they have a crack for it. LIVE WITH IT! STOP *****ING and get on with your lives! Jesus christ! You'd think people would get the idea about cursing in public forums or where kids can see "BAD" words! COME ON! By the time kids are 3 they've seen so many deaths and have heard enough curses to fill up a 24 hour standup routine of George Carlin. Its not something you can change either, but STILL people say "No cursing here!" BLAH! STILL nothing you can do! and THAT is the TRUTH, By god. LIVE WITH IT. and hopefully that'll be the end of this dumb thread. Oh and whoever asked for a cd crack in the firstplace, you're an idiot. ------------------------------------------------------- All Humans are VERMIN in the eyes of MORBO! If it was not allowed, they could have easily made it impossible to do so. Over the Internet is another thing, because then it matches CD keys. If they don't allow you to copy your legally-obtained game for private use, on your own LAN, then they should at least include a second CD so you can enjoy multiplayer fully. Copy protection on CDs are a total failure, a disaster, a total waste of money, and they only hurt the law-abiding citizen. To this date, it has not taken cracking groups more than ONE DAY from the initial release of ANY CD with some sparkling new copy protection that cost several BILLIONS to develop, before it was cracked and copied. However, the law-abiding citizen will have to fight with installation problems, and so forth. Audio CDs in particular are a total and utter disaster, most of the new CDs with copy protection don't play on computers at all, and on a lot of stereos. It only discourages the otherwise law-abiding citizen to obtain the CD illegally, because then he doesn't have to put up with all the bullshit his legally-obtained CD is giving him. Celine Dion's most recent outing had NEW OMG SUPER LEET CD COPY PROTECTION SYSTEM, and I know several people who had their hands on the CD even BEFORE IT WAS OFFICIALLY RELEASED. It's a fucking joke, and any person with more than two functioning neurons can see this. Remove the copy protection and LOWER THE GODDAMN PRICES, then, and only then, will you sell more CDs. More CDs than ever before, in fact. The RIAA are also raping their artists with a tire iron; Most artists get less than 2% of the earnings. And for what? The artists are the geniuses behind the music, they write, play, sing and mix their own music. The only thing the record companies are doing, is mass-producing their CDs and distributing them, and if it's a really popular artist, they make up for the cost of that twenty times over within the first few weeks. Some artists even have to pay for their own PR and tours. Read up on what happened to TLC, it will give you some insight on how things really work in that business. And to whoever suggested I go play Counter-Strike: No. If I want a non-buggy game, CS is not what I should go for. And furthermore, I don't play CS. I have barely ever played it online (one time only, to be exact), and the game in its current state is equivalent to digital feces. Just more shining evidence of what happens when a big company takes over a private operation and turns an otherwise excellent product into utter, non-sensical crap. Not to mention what a horrible community of degenerates the VALVe take-over brought with it, my GOD. And I should know, I was a moderator there. Needless to say, I am not anymore, nor do I wish to set foot in that cesspool of idiocy ever again.

Actaully it would really be cool if you (the moderators) would replace the words all together. No offense bro, just thought you should know this, and tell your friend because he's missing out Its been 3 years since I was up in Jacksonville to see him, he is now in Georgia, to be honest [with a T1 going to his dorm...]. We usually make him come to our place now. Of course, he has no car anymore, so that will be difficult, became a student for a while at Georgia TECH. I don't doubt Media one is not there, they were not that great a deal for a cable provider, but like much of Florida, at that time they were a monopoly, so you had little choice, use them or do without. Actually I recall hearing about AT&T haivng some deal with Media one now that you mention it. We have Cox in my area, but I live in the sticks so they don't service us, and alltel is in no hurry to deploy DSL for me [even though they claim they already have] so for now I am sycuk with 56K. As to HL, I stand corrected, never played it at a LAN so never really read it, that's pretty cool of Sierra & valve to do, however, that's one company, well 2 as I mentioned blizzard, but your not talking about a USUAL occurance. What's the agreement for Tribes? Everquest [Actually guess you can't exaclty LAN this one, can you?]? Q3A? MOH:AA? Red Alert 2? AOE2? BG2? I did not even know HL would run on windows 3.1/ 3.11 to be honest, or did the site you linked make a mistake? My point was you have to READ the liscence agreement to know what you can do, period. And what does JK2's say about using multiple clients from one CD?

Thanks Its a script, its part of the Vbulletin software they use to host the forums. They can only option it on or off, and add words to remove. No one is sitting there reviewing your post and removing the worlds. Oh and wikkid, ask your parents if thier cable comapny didn't used to charge for extra TV's, its just with the competition level there is, they kind of dropped the idea. That and you can'tt legally tell someone how to run wires in their house so long as they meet code enforcement restrictions. Cox used to, I remember having only ONE TV with cable in the house and using UHF on the others.
