Catfish
I have a DVD player on my computer and am trying to find out if there is a way you can take a picture(print screen)something like that to take a picture from a movie, save it in some type of format and then expand it to make a poster or something similar. Anyone who has an idea please let me know. Thanks.
Boba Rhett
Your going to have to download a printscreen program that will copy the screen no matter what is being displayed. There may be one at download.com but I haven't looked.
Forhekset
HyperSnap-DX is a decent DVD screencap program. It's shareware, though. You can grab it at download.com.

CupO'Coffee
just as Forhekset said, hypersnap dx is a good choice for making screenshots. also, you can take screenshots from other directx and opengl applications too, even it is normally not possible. i wouldn't take powerdvdthough , since it's a dvd playback software and it might be exegerrated to install a entire playback software just to make some screenshots, share though it is... hypersnap is shareware i agree, but there're ways of avoiding/disabling it, if you know what i mean (just kidding)
