Vega Nite
I've got a Nvidia Riva TNT2 model64 Pro and the thing usually kicks but. but for some reason it won't display thinks right in JO. All the skys are yellow, vertices shading doesn't work, and for some reason the framerate drops every once in a while in game which doesn't happen in any of my other games even the ones that are even more graphics intense. Also if I try to change the screen size from 800x600 to anything else an illegal operation thing comes up and closes JO. Same thing happens if I try to raise or lower the texture quality, color depth, or color setting. I did download the 23.11 device driver but that only gave me vertices shading. So I downloaded the new detenator driver and it just made things worse. So I tried reinstalling the 23.11 device driver and now I get this message when my computer restarts that says cannot find line NvCplDaemon in NvQtwk.dll. So can anyone please help me. hughJ
bleah... tnt2 m64's are awful ;( I can't see how a stripped down tnt2 could be expected to play any new game without any problems..
BJP3E
a TNT Riva Nvidea 16bit card I play with at a res of 1600x1200 medium details all around I only use simple shadows. other shading seems fine. as for sky I had it happen where it was all one flat color so I fixed the prob by reinstalling the game

Unless you have a SUPER fast machine i do not understand how it could run good at 1600x1200 with a tnt 16mb, cause i sure as hell can't run it well at that rez and my card is a helluva lot better than yours. BJP3E
ok I have a PII 400 256 meg RAM 16bit TNT Riva Envidea card I run the game on a custom setting at medium detailing and a res of 1600x1200, if I go higher it crashes the game. The game runs overall fine as far as I can tell. Two spots on one later leval I had some minor lag and then the Yavin swamp was all lag but otherwise seems fine I dont know my fps as I dont know how to show it
Emon
People often think that "smooth" is 15-20 FPS... haha, that's horrible framerate. How some idiot can sit there with his game choppy as hell and say it runs smooth is beyond me.
Deetox187
lol ya i have a friend like that, plays UT and Operation Flashpoint all the time with his p2 300 voodoo banshee combo lol. I don't know how he can stand it, personally i find that 60+ fps is ideal and anything below 30 is unacceptable.

You do not have shaders on a TNT2, they would have to be software shaders, and that would kill your CPU, turn them OFF. A tnt2 is an old chipset from like 1999, before hardware special effects were being added to cards. You also do not have hardware based Transform or Lighting, not that the Q3 engine takes advantage of lighting, but it does transform operations, so your FPS are likely going to be low, in case that's your next issue. You essentially running the same as a Voodoo 4 card should run, except you've got an M64 which means memory is both slow and only 64Bit.
joshiaparra
I have same card w/no problems at all. But how do you get FPS to show up onscreen. I know you type /cg_drawfps 1 but how do u get the console up, usually it is the ~ sign?

The skies being yellow involved a cvar something like Opengl_soft or some, don't have my list with me, turn that off and they SHOULD return to normal unless your card has an issue of some type preventing it from using them. Since my 32MB GF1 does not, you shouldn't other than performance.
