Loathar
Got a HUGE problem. I luanch a dedicated server, from in game or with the command line and +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg. I can see the game in gamespy and All Seeing Eye, I can add it to my favorites and it shows up, I can check on my LAN connection and it is there, but when searching in-game internet, I cannot see it .... I run an Inet cafe and have 2 SDSL lines and am trying to run a simple 16 man server with win 98 SE AMD XP 1700 256 pc2100 DDR ... the machine and connection are fine. I know a lot of other people are having this problem, and the last thing I wanted to mention was I saw the first dedicated that I ran ... it crashed like every 10 minutes so I installed to a different machine and everything was fine, but I dont see the game. Any help would be GREAT. Thanks. Loathar
MatrixCPA
Just to cover all the bases, have you made sure that the in-game browser isn't filtering out your server? I know that ASE and gamespy both pull from the same master server that the in-game browser does. So, that makes me wonder. Have a look and let us know. geronimo27
Actually, this happened to me today. I have been running a server for the past week, and it has successfully shown in in-game browser, and on GSpy and ASE. Today I loaded up my game and my server no longer shows in in-game browser, but still shows in GSpy.
MatrixCPA
I've seen that happen in Q3 and RtCW. After some random period of time--typically a few days to a week--of continuous server operation....it just vanishes from the master list. A server restart usually does the trick. It took me a while to figure out because I had my server in my favorites (duh) and it always showed up there. I'm not certain what causes it. But as long as nothing more severe than a restart fixes it, I guess I won't get too worried.
