General Theros
I don't know what has happened. I've been playing JO no problems since I got it on the 28th. But just the other day my cd rom has stopped recognizing the disc. It says that there isn't a disc in the drive. Everytime I load up a game or start a multi player game or anything.....error: no disc in the drive or something like that. Grrrr. I have no problem running Dungeon Siege or anything else....just this! Can anyone help me out? General Theros
SplitSoul
The wonderful benefit of wholly inefficient copy protection; Reaming the law-abiding citizen in his anal cavity every day of the week! Sigh. Why do they even bother with this anymore? The crackers have a crack out the day after the release anyway. Good luck with your game regardless, though. I advise you to dig up a no-CD patch or something.
matt--
I believe that jk2 has no copy protection. Check the surface of the disc...is it scratched?

Try holding down the left shift of a minute or two when you insert the disk to stop the auto insert notification.
General Theros
no, the surface of my cd is fine. It works on my roomies computer still. But the cd rom on my comp won't even start spinning. the light won't come on. It sounds like it wants to start spinning...but doesn't make it. Sad. Crazy computer. BrainStorm
So the CDROM won't read any CD's at all?
General Theros
No, it just won't read my Jedi Outcast cd. Everything else I've tried on it works....such as Dungeon Siege. JO works on my friends computer still! sigh.....really annoying. General Theros
Chiles4
I believe that jk2 has no copy protection. I've thought about that concept a little as in the past I know that Lucasarts has released some games with no copy protection. The thing is, it's a moot point, whether or not JK2 really does have copy protection. The bottom line is that many people cannot read the JK2 cd. Whether that's due to copy protection or the use of subchannel data or whatever, I don't know. With modern-day gaming, it appears that this problem is here to stay. General, if your friend owns JK2, have you tried his Cd in your box? You might even want to consider temporarily swapping your CD-Rom drive with your friend's to see if the problem is your CD-ROM drive. It may turn out that your only options are a nocd patch or getting a newer DVD-ROM or CD-RW drive.
BrainStorm
I like the no-cd patches. I play more than one game and it is a pain to keep having to switch the CD's around.

General Theros
what makes no sense is that I have actually been able to play my disc. I'm past Bespin. I've played lots of multiplayer. It just recently stopped reading it. I dunno....it is an old CD-rom though...so I'll probably try a new one. sniffle. General Theros
