Darklink2000
i'm currently running jk2 on a Tyan Motherboard AMD K-6 2 450mhz, 256pc133 mb ram, sound blaster live x-gamer, nvidia geforce 2 gts 64mb "enhanced". i'm having framerates on the maximum graphics like 20-25, on lower settings 25-35, and sometime 40, with FFA 4x MAXIMUM QUALITY 1024*768 10-25 with lowdowns to 1fps!!!. i don;t expect any better cuz my sytem sucks!. But why the framerates doesn't make much difference in high, maximum and lower. Also, i've been reading that people are having problems with high-end system, i'm plannig to upgrade my system to a SOYO k7dragon+, AMD ATHLON XP 2000+ 256mb 2100 ram, what do ya think of it? do you think this spec will able me to play the game at a full or more than 60fps? Emon
Well, it's definatly your crappy CPU and motherboard. Upgrading that will get you 60 FPS probably max, but it'll drop if you have the detail really high on intense levels. You'll probably want to run everything on High, not Very High. People don't have problems with high-end systems. People have problems when they are on a P2 350 and think that their GeForce 3 makes it high end. Emon
By the way, I would suggest not getting a Soyo motherboard. Soyo doesn't make great products. I would recommend the following motherboard companies: Gigabyte MSI Asus Abit EpoX ONLY get a motherboard and heatsink if it's on AMD's recommended motherboards/heatsinks list at http://www.amd.com. I made that mistake before, and my heatsink eventually crushed my CPU. I would recommend the Thermaltake Volcano 7+ for your CPU, it's certified by AMD, and will keep it REALLY cool. I'd buy online from http://www.newegg.com. They have really low prices and great service.
