AV4T4R Posted April 13, 2002 Share Posted April 13, 2002 Hello guys, Here is my personal tips about how to fight with lightsaber in duels, but first of all i'll show u the little difference between jk1 and jk2 jk1 : more difficult to do the combos, u had to push everytime the button finding the correct time to link togheter different moves To block u must find the correct position with your saber, it means u can block EVERYTHING if u'r enough good ( with a good ping ) to put yourself everytime with the saber vs the enemy one. jk 2 : u just press the button and the game automatically will allow u to make combos. If u want to block, u just need to use a power probabilistic way, u dont block everytime, u block if u find a particular position and if semi-random calculate allow u to block that shot! Now, another big difference was that in jk 1 the BLOCK, was an advatage for the defender, couse the enemy attack lost the damage and u can counterattack with your combo, in jk 2 BLOCKING most of times allow the enemy to start another 1 or 2 moves consecutvly ( not ordinary moves, but moves that start only if parried ) that most of the times enter the defensive guard of a jedi, so it gives an ADVANTAGE to the attcker, and not to the defender.... i think this is a mistake! HOW TO FIGHT : Lesson number 1 : Most of the game is a psycologic duel, not a physical duel, u dont need to attack the air if u want to strike your opponent, u must study him, allowing him to make an error, just turn around him, look his moves, BLOCKING a saber is more effective then AVOIDING it. As u know the PUSH can be avoided if u dont move in strafe direction, but or if u stand or if u move back or forward, it's the same for block system, u have a better % of blocking if u are moving back or forward FACING the enemy, dont move strafing couse your % will decrease! BLUE vs BLUE My enemy is using a blue stance, ok, first thing u must do is to push your enemy in spinning way, it will be slower then u from direct assault. As i noticed the blue stance is faster and more effective for STAB attack, or just frontal attack, the YELLOW is better for spinning attacks, and the RED for charging or avoiding attacks. If u use the blue it means u are WEAK in damage but FAST , and the SPEED must be your strongpoint, charge the enemy while jumping, starting a right - left spinning move, if u can damage it u'll get a little advantage, when u land immediatly ROLL with 180 degress and reach the back of your enemy, If u do this well, the enemy will start in spinning rotation, and if it happens CHARGE him with 2 frontal fast strke and then do the special moves, Crouch + forward! It allow u to crash him with 3 shots, in the time he makes only 1 spinning. Blue stance for other things is just luck, couse also if u ping 100, the high stance speed doenst allow u to understand well what is happening BLUE vs YELLOW The first part is just a defensive way, u must retire from yellow stance enough to let him reach the 3 shot, yellow can only make 5 shots then he has to rest a little. If u are able to block som yellow shot or just push the enemy to miss u with first stikes, now u can COUNTER attack with 2 diagonal slash ( surely they take) and charge him immdiatly, remember after 1 seconds u MUST run away with a roll and come back in defensive. If the enemy is fleeing REMEMBER everytime that your faster, YELLOW stance while fighting is slower then BLUE stance ( i mean the charatcher is slower in moving ) so u can make some fake hits to allow the enemy thinking " ahah.. is's swinging , now i can hit him " but if he start to approch u u will be faster in avoiding him. Just remember that u must be REALLY REALLY defensive, couse yellow kill u with 3 shots! BLUE vs RED Preatty easy for blue stance defeating a red, ( always with really low lag ) , just play OFFENSIVE, RED is slow and can be avoided crouching or jumping, just remember if u have enough courage to block a red shot or better to CROUCH to a red shot without running away the match will be your. Just let the enemy use his shot then charge him, maybe while jumping, wait for his seconds slash, make a roll 180 ° reaching his back and start again another assault, most of your moves must be ATTACK - roll - ATTACK - roll, while avoiding his shots! U ATTACK , not him, if u let him attack there will be the moment when he will really strike u off with a lucky shot! or u'll give himthe possibility to make the ISTANT kill red special move jump! YELLOW vs BLUE Never reach the spinning way, make only 3 moves at time, and plan them well, if the blue stance is charging u , COUNTER CHARGE, couse your saber speed is almost the same, but u inflict more damage, NEVER REACH the spin part of the combo or u'll decreare your speed and u'll lost your target! YELLOW vs YELLOW It's just a coordination battle, make diagonal slash while avoiding his one, the better way is to BLOCK first 2 shots and immediatly counter attack from short range with your combos ( i mean block couse if u avoid u'll get far from the target ) Usually a yellow charger after the 2 first shot start to spinning, in that time u can counter attack him killing him in 1 seconds! Remember to Jump and slash really often, couse most of the times diagonal frontal slash are not so effective while standing then while jumping! YELLOW vs RED Be careful now, if u want u can belock, but best thing is to check the enemy red shot, wait for the middle of the strike, JUMP vs the enemy ( couse red shots DECREARE really much the user speed ) and start a combo from air, with first shot, then if he charge again make a roll and restart a combo! then take a pause to rest and study the enemy, move back slowly, push the enemy to attack, if he attack frontally u win, couse if u'r moving back he MUST run forward vs u, so moving SLOW. (dont run ) back, and push the enemy to run vs u, in the time he charge the shot RUN vs HIM and strke him with a 2 shot combo, JUMP at the second shot if u noticed to be in late vs his strike. RED vs Others Just a lucky shots, it's only a GOOD time skill, move diagonal back, change direction as more as u can and then strike while the enemy is attacking, just image to have lag, u must start FIRST then your enemy, couse u'r slower and remember that your slower also in move speed while using red stance for attack. Jump often couse the enemy rarely can see your excatly shot if u'r jumping, so u get a little time advantage! If u'r batteling a red stance, make some fake like jumping, and Counter jump with special move after his shot, directly on his face, u can also get hit but u'll kill him with 1 jump! ------ HOW THE GAME SHOULD BE MODIFIED? Increase block system, more similar to SP, put a high probaility of block for blue stance, medium for yellow and little for red. DECREASE characther speed, a middle way between walking adn running DECREASE back speed, i dont think that a backrunner can run as fast as a forward runner modify the stance in this way using BLUE STANCE allow u to increasre a little your speed while swinging using YELLOW stance is normal as now RED stance should be FASTER in shot, ( but a little, not to much ) but if u start a red shot your characther should decreare the speed almost to standing in the place! Soul-Burn Posted April 13, 2002 Share Posted April 13, 2002 I just hope raven reads these forums and will note that almost EVERYONE said that Back speed should be nerfed and the stances should be more noticable, blue should be beefed and red should allow less movement.
