Evan Nash
Now, I LOVE skins, and I really dig all the work people are doing making new skins. It's really great. But, is all this work going to be all for nothing since 99% of servers are PURE servers? How can we enjoy all these new skins when we won't even be able to view them? When Raven comes out with a patch, they need to make it so we can still wear/see skins that others have, yet still prevent all the other hacks/cheats that a PURE server was made for. Maps are different because if a map is really good, the server will use it. But with soon-to-be hundreds of skins, there's no chance the servers will have every single one of them or even 5 of them on their server. The only way you can see all the skins is if you play on a friends server or start your own server, but that's not really fun. I like to play with other people. Am I alone on this? PurplWulf
well I can't speak for other server admins, but I don't run a pure server, and I check the boards regularly for new skins to add to my list, I have about 20 user made skins available on my server at the moment and that number will drastically increase as they are released. I do agree though, it's frustrating to see all these nice skins being made, and then see that 99% of the servers out there are "pure" servers and they don't have the skins the purple one
Evan Nash
Exactly. I really wish Raven can fix this somehow. The SDK will end up being used only for maps, not skins. Sure, maybe one day someone will make a "Big Fluffy Pack" for all to use, but who is that person to decide what skins he/she thinks should be the "best of the best"? Sigh. Lime-Light
Agreed. We need a big skin/model pack that all servers can have and be included in the "pure server" criteria, when enough ppl have it, al servers will use it, out of nescesity (I know, i cant spell). Evan Nash
I don't like the idea of "Big Fluffy Packs" too much tho. We got lucky in the first JK where we got REALLY good skins in the pack. But everyones opinion on "what's a good skin" is different... I want everyone to decide that on their own and not have to use skin packs because nothing else works. Jarrodo Malachi
I think your right, there needs to be some way for every one to see each others skins. only thing is i was wondering bout the stuff the comes with it. example: I am using a non pure server. i have a blade skin..nothing special. but my friend want's to join also....he's got a spider-man skin complete with powers (wall crawling, web-slinging, spider-sense) if i can only see his skin and not allow the powers will this some how crash the game. 2 question. would it even be possible to have two different people using two different mods. like again i'm blade with all of his phat weapons. my friend comes in as say james bond and his big load of heavy gear. could i still use mine? could he still use his? could we use each others? to sum it up i want to kno if you could "mix" mods by some chance

Singularity
I don't understand this "but who am I to decide what goes into the almighty skin pack" attitude. I think it's fairly obvious which skins are good and which are not. Make a decision. Like I said, it's pretty easy to tell a good skin from a bad one. Chances are people will agree with you. Evan Nash
Almighty attitude? Thanks for quoting me saying something I did not say. I didn't say it anything like that.
