Dedicated server question!

righty, this has been probably asked and answered but this way i will see it for my self

 

Righty...

i have 2 systems, and i want ta make 1 of them a dedicated server, as my cable modem is about too be takin up too a 1meg up and download

 

but the problem is this

I have 2 networks in my main system(the non dedicated one)

i have my Cable Modem going to one, then i have the other nic going too the hub i have

where the other system (dedicated one) hooked to the hub, which see's the net fine, and plays well as well

both systems get sweet pings on the normal bandwith i have atm

 

BUT

 

when i setup the Dedicated and run it, i dont see the game come up

the dedicated cant been seen for some reason

i am good at networkin to a certain degree as i find it run messing around doin it

but why cant it bee seen? is there away too sort it with out alterin the layout?

maybe a ip change or add or somin like that

How is your LAN configured? What ports are you redirecting? Besides the server port you need to open up 28060-28062 for the master server heartbeat to be effective. Why not run the server as the router instead of your game machine?
