PC Gaming within high schools...Should it be permitted or prohibited?

As long as it doesn't interfere with classwork and doesn't destroy the computers somehow (you'd be surprised what clueless teenagers will do to a computer), why not?

I'm still effectively banned from all computers (200+) at my HS because I was the one that brought Quake. No matter what the admin would do, there would always be at least one folder, on some computer in the school, that would have that game in it ready for sharing. I even put it on the junior high's system (all schools here are networked) so he wouldn't think of looking there. :D

At my Middle school I was banned from the computers til I graduated from there because I used the old novell messaging system and the sys admin password that somehow found its way into my knowledge to send messages to all the computers about variously stupid things. I still do that at my High School but I am more careful :)

Guess I'll never learn.

Either way I don't think gaming and schools really goes together. I mean if you can actually get a club together that isn't a bunch of whiners than that would be cool but most of the people at my school that play games I do are so bad at them that when me and some of my serious gaming friends would beat them they would cry(one of the literally cried) about it until we shut down the server.

Personally I find it great to just put together a LAN outside of school restriction. A lot of times we sit our computers down at somebody's church where there is plenty of room, or a basement and play til about 8 in the morning. See by that time we had probably made 2 taco runs, and a Wendy's run. So with the combination of the food and the lack of sleep and the fact that we were staring at monitor for 10 hours straight we were always pretty busted by 7 or 8 o clock.
