I think so. On E! (not that this is the final word on anything) yesterday or this morning they ranked the top 20 comedies. While Spaceballs wasn't on the list (a glaring omission in my eyes) it was ranked as the #1 spoof of all time.

My favorite comedy of all time, followed closely by Three Amigos. I have both DVDs, and I only have nine DVDs, so you know it must like those a lot!

 

One thing, though. Everyone remembers the "major asshole" scene, right? There is another version that is usually shown when the movie airs on TV, where all the "assholes" are changed to "morons." Does anyone else think the "moron" version is better? The timing seems to be smarter and the overall execution just seems better. Opinions?

what flick was that? sounds funny, like one of those exeggerated japan kung-fu flicks where they can fly and do sh!t like that :)

It isn't a scene from Spaceballs but is still from an excellent movie....The Princess Bride.

 

I also own it on DVD.

Planet Spaceball is a planet running out of air.

So the president of planet spaceball sends Dark Helmet and Colonel Sanderz to capture Planet Druidia. Seeing as the planet has 10,000 years of air supply.

However the planet has a shield round it , soooo the plan is the King of Druidia daughter is to be married one day. But she backs out and gets in a space ship and flies away to clear her head.

Dark Helmet and Colonel Sanderz plan to capture the princess in space and hold her at ransom to the King.

 

The Princess will not be hurt, if the King tells Dark Helmet the code to open the shield , he will give the princess back. And Spaceballs will take over the planet Druidia.

 

However the King hires LoneStar and Barf to track down and rescue the princess and save Druidia..............................................................
