geronimo27
I initially had a successful server running on win32, then switch my server box os to red hat 7.2, and got that server up and running fine. Although, being new to linux, I did something to my OS which caused me to have to reinstall. Afte the reinstall, I set up jk2 server just as before, except now when I run it, it attempts to set my ip as the one I define in my command line, it finds my computer hostname, but then I see the following three lines: ALIAS localhost.localdomain ALIAS localhost 127.0.0.1 and now my server doesn't show in the jk2 in-game browser. I realize 127.x.x.x example above is my computer, but where are the alias lines coming from? The only thing I did different in my linux install was to set the firewall initially to high level instead of low, but before i ran the jk2 server, i used gnome-lokkit to change the firewall back to low. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
MatrixCPA
Is the server able to reach the net? Are you using a router (external)?

MatrixCPA
Can you paste the whole startup spam from the console? It would be useful.
evilpeno
actually what does your /etc/hosts file look like? jk2 reads the hosts file to determine the hostname. if you haven't edited this to get rid of the redhat defaults, do it you'll want it to look something like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.1.1 server.dns.com ; change accordingly
