Help unzipping files in assets.pk3

Since the european publisher deemed Italy not worty of a localized version of JK2, I decided to translate at least the subtitles, by overwriting the text present in the "strip" directory in the "assets1.pk3" with italian subtitles. I would like to find a way to copy the new, updated "strip" directory in the file, without having to decompress and recompress it, since the patch is intended also for inexperienced users.

 

I was wondering if some of you guys know a way to do it, I don't know if it's possible to do it with programs like winzip, or other, more advanced programs.

Just use any ZIP program (I use either WinZip or WinRAR). Double click one of the PK3 files and tell Windows to use one of those programs to open it. Then you should be able to drag and drop files as you please. You'll probably want to back up the originals just in case.
