Whooz
Well, on my crappy computer, I don't expect JO to run very well. And I practically gave up getting through SP, as it was practically unplayable. But I was interested in editing, so I downloaded the tools and made a simple 1 room level. When I loaded it, I noticed I got ~90fps. I brought out my saber, switching to third person view, and my framerates dropped down to ~37. I assume that my computer chokes when JO tries to draw models. So I loaded up the first level, and I notice that my framerates are about 50-70 when they are no models around (like in hallways), but when there are crates or stormtroopers, it drops down to ~12. Is there anyway to correct this? Like turn down the model detail? *Note - This is in High Detail mode. Low Detail mode is oddly about the same speed. Mertado
You just answered your own question. Being able to see your player in 3rd person adds a lot of extra polys/animation details that hog system resources. Yes, reduce the model detail, but ESPECIALLY reduce the texture detail as they both affect not only your FPS, but your loading times as well. Taking my texture level from very high to just high gave me around +30 FPS on an already decent system. Adding more system memory will help you out a whole lot as well.
