I could be way off base here, but the error "Invalid access to memory location." could mean a physical RAM or hard drive problem. Try uninstalling the game, scandisk (to identify any bad sectors), defrag, then reinstall. It could also be a possible corrupt installation in which case a reinstall would fix it too...
