muc0n
I recently upgraded to windows 2000 Pro from windows ME and now my jedi outcast is not only really dark but i can't increase the brightness of it in the video options. Also when i create a game the sky flashes the whole time. I have tried multiple drivers and even the wickedgl fix but nothing works. I have an AMD Athlon 800mhz with 320mbs of RAM with a voodoo 5 5500. Everything worked fine with Windows ME but I'd like to use Windows 2000 Pro if possible. Thanks for any help. teleguy
You can adjust your opengl brightness settings with powerstrip. http://194.64.0.2/downloads/33467/pstrip.exe?1019992896-1019996496-A-7ddf2bec87809c259d1762c7c463388e.exe
teleguy
You can also edit the jk2 config files. Go to your base folder (in GameData ) and open jk2config with wordpad. Search for seta r_gamma (the default value is 1), if you increase the value the game becomes brighter. Save before you close the file. Now do the same thing for jk2mpconfig. muc0n
Thanks for the help. I feel stupid now because both those were simple things that never occured to me .
muc0n
I tried both those things along with a few more drivers and the screen stays dark no matter what i set the gamma to. Also i still have the problem of the sky flashing when i am in game.
ICGALN
Put these into the config file: seta r_gamma "1.281250" seta r_mapoverbrightbits "5" seta r_overBrightBits "5" I have 2K Pro and that worked for me.

Tangles
how about trying r_ignorehwgamma 0 and then tweaking the gamma settings?
muc0n
Windows 2000 Pro just gave me too many problems so i went back to using Windows ME. I got a new ata133 controller card and it doesnt work with 2000, also i cant use the 3rd and 4th buttons on my mouse, and i cant play counter-strike either. So i dont think windows 2000 is right for me. I may try WinXP if i get a chance see if it is any better. Thanks all the help.
