Can't install Jedi Knight2. Help!

Hey people can anyone help me please.

I've Just bought Jedi Knight 2 and I can't get the program to install. It crashes withing 3 - 5 seconds of clicking the setup icon before the intall window even comes up and I get the following message.

 

Guru Mediation Failure

 

Assertion Failed: "m_hSetupDll!=0"!

My PC Specs are more than enough to run the game;

 

Dell Inspiron 8100 Laptop

Pentium 3 - 1.13Ghz

256 mB ram

32 mB Nvidia GeForce2 graphics card

20.8 Gbyte free on C: drive

Windows 2000 operating system Factory installed

Toshiba 20 speed CD/DVD/CD writer combo drive

Directx ver 8.0a

 

 

I've never had a problem with any other game I have tried to run, Half life, Alien V Predetor 2, Medal of Honor etc etc

 

I figure that maybe the problem is because I am using a Laptop and not a Desktop but maybe someone has an Idea.

Are you logged in as administrator when you try to install?

While you're at it, hit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and get the Windows 2000 service packs and compatibility updates...
