There's one thing that could help.

Go to the directory where you installed JK2 ( default is C:\Program Files \Lucasarts\JediOutcast ) , find "JediOutcast.exe" and rename it to "Quake3.exe" . Now download the wickedgl driver http://www.wicked3d.com/downloads/wickedgl/wgl_demo.exe

and install it . Select "Quake3" in the gameslist and choose the option "Install wickedgl regular version". After installing the driver change "Quake3.exe" back to "JediOutcast.exe" . It should work now.

Hey man, before you go and spend $ on a new vid card, do you have Quake 3 installed? If so, you can take the 3dfxogl.dll out of the baseq3 folder, copy it to the base folder for Jedi Oucast, and rename it to opengl32.dll.

Worked with my Voodoo 3 card. =)

Otherwise, any GeForce 2 or above video card you can get your hands on will perform just fine. I got mine for $60 at the BX on Elmendorf AFB (well, I've got friends, ok? :D ). It's an I/O Magic, and works beutifully.

they told u to change the name of the wrong exe, it didnt work for me either, i have voodoo3 too. i did this and it worked.

1. you have to go in the gamedata folder in the jk2 directory, there will be two files jk2sp.exe and jk2mp.exe

2. change one to quake3.exe

3. install wickedgl on there.

4. change it back to what it was.

5. change to other to quake3.exe

6. install wicked there too.

7. change it back to what it was

8. make a bind to some rand unused button that says to turn on cheats and make it so u can slice the bad guys up.

example:

bind o "helpusobi 1; g_saberrealisticcombat 1"

the last step is optional, you dont have to do it, but it makes the game a whole mess cooler when u kill them reborn in slow mo while their head slides off...kicks butt.

at a lan party I watched some people with voodoo cards trying to get wickedGL to work,... lets just say those of us with nVidia cards thought it was a little funny.

so simply, if you can afford it, it is worth the money to upgrade to a good video card.

which one, depends on how much money you have to put into it.

a GeForce2GTS or Ultra would balance well with that system, (ultra would be better)

a GeForce3Ti200 would be much better, and I've seen those for like $120-$150 (american)

I would say a GeForce3Ti500 is about the best you could go without wasting your money completely, it'd probably have some potential going untapped from your system not keeping up, but thats not always a bad thing.

don't waste your money on GF4's unless you've got wayyy too much money.
