Crashing Server over and over

I have a server that is set up on my work machine. I do tech support, and so I have a very nice machine, and really need little use of it. AIM is running, and Norton 2k2, and the jk2ded.exe (win32) is running. That's it. Usually it crashes about every day (night to be exact). I come in in the morning and there is the error message for WinXP. JK2Ded.exe caused some sh*t to go down, and we had to close it....then that annoying do you want to submit this problem stuff. Any ideas?? Is this simply the functionality of the jk2ded.exe build c?

I've tried shutting everything off, with the exception of norton, because i don't trust too many people out there. Any other ideas are more than welcome.

The server software has plenty of bugs in it still. Here's my auto-restart log from the last week. I'm running the linux ded server and, as you can see, it just crashes. I haven't found a particular cause yet. So, I just think it has problems and needs to crash and be restarted every so often. I'm working on adding more detailed logging so that I can try to isolate it further.

Figured out why my server kept crashing. I had put my JKDEDWIN32 program on high priority and it was ustable and resulted in crashing. I have now changed the priority to 'above normal' and it does not crash and has had no ill effect on the clients joining the server.

I would like to know one thing from people and that is are they cycling maps? I ran ctf_bespinfort today and yesterday without problems with bots and 5 players and it didn't crash at all. I haven't seen problems with just one map so maybe it is the rotation? I notice as a client on most servers that rotations seem to screw up alot.

Rotations are easy to mess up and when you do it can cause all kinds of strange problem--ranging from a crash to god mode. I know that may server isn't crashing during map changes because I can see that in the log. It's just cruising along and *blam* down it goes. I know it's not caused by g_dismember because I've always had that off. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they come out with another patch that addresses these issues.

I'm running the Linux dedicated on my FreeBSD webserver, up until the time that i added set g_dismember 100 into the config, it ran for over a week without a single crash. After adding that it would crash on an arbitrary KILL_MOD, so I removed it. Yet to no avail, still getting opStack corrupted in compiled code, Server Shutdown. So i decided to re-download and re-install the dedicated server and re-install the base files. This way I could be sure everything was a fresh copy as before. Still, crashes every 20 minutes or less within the server becoming full (only 6 players, this is a minimal load on the dual p3's) and it had never done this before. How can i go to a week of uptime with the dedicated server running solid, and now crashing every 20 minutes? (which map makes no diffrence, and wether the kill is in duel mode or not makes no diffrence either. My .pk3 files haven't been modified in anyway either, their datestamps are all correct.) Help.

Did you remove the g_dismember settting? or change it to "0". If you just removed it, there's probably a "copy" in the jk2mpconfig.cfg and it's still causing the crashes. The best thing is to add the setting back and make it "0".

As a former linux game admin I noticed while running an EliteForce server on Mandrake8.1 that the games.log would sometimes grow way out of proportion and cause the game to crash exactly as you describe. I know that in Windows the chances are much better for this to be the case so I would simply disable the games.log (unless you really need it.)

There are many other reasons it could happen as well. I reccomend you check out http://www.gameadmins.com and read up on hosting there. BTW I wrote the UnrealTournament server setup guide.
