TuSKeN_RaiDeR Posted May 2, 2002 Share Posted May 2, 2002 Looking good so far, just a few minor pointers: On every screenshot I saw the same sqaure/block texture on the main walls, it looks a bit silly in big rooms with big walls, it looks a bit over-repeated on the big walls. Maybe you could add some low ground fog in that "dark" room to create some extra atmosphere when you are fighting there. There's only one major flaw: IT ISN'T RELEASED YET! BTW, for music files, you might look at the files in the assets0 file for the DV v. LS on the second Death Star scene. Love that music. You are actually doing more bad than good, although the intension is good. By pushing him to do better, he will learn more stuff, and will get better. If you have an 18 year old daughter who draws like a 2 year old (bad comparison, but trying to make a point here) and you keep telling her how amazing she is, she will keep drawing like a 2 year old. However, if you give her suggestions, point here to some drawing books and tell her to improve, she will learn a lot more and come up with some kickass drawings. Basicly what i mean if you can find a position that the player can get into no matter how remote the chances are and YOUR not happy with it then re-do it. Its all very well saying that the main room on a map is brilliant, but if the rest of it is pants its not a brilliant level Having said that no-one bar GOD Him self is ever going to create the perfect map, its always going to annoy some ppl. Main thing is if you can honestly say you are prepared to pay for your map then thats good enough, you know the quality you can get, aim for something like ravens maps, and if you ever get there aim to pummel there quality into the dirt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But i don't think I'll add fog. Sightsod: Thanks! I think it's quite cool if do I say so my self. But... I am very sorry but, uhhhh, I will not be releasing it for a while. However, when I do release it, it will have three(that's right, three!) levels in it. All of them pretty much similer except in size. This one is going to be duel only. The second one will be CTF. And the third one will be FFA(I may make it so you can do Holocron too). This Duel one is a three by three grid of rooms. The CTF one will be five by five with flag rooms outside the grid. The FFA one will be a whopping seven by seven grid! It will probably take a while though, sorry. Kanehart: What exactly do you mean? Dark Cloak: Thanks! Everyone: Why won't my fire hurt!
