I can run a server from in the game but....

It will not read my server.cfg file and is only taking the settings i give it from when i start it in the game is there another way i need to run it? i have tried the adding the command line like everyone says which is

 

"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\JediOutcast.exe" +set dedicated 2 +exec config.cfg

but it does not work =(

You should either use the dedicated server binary or use the jk2mp.exe rather than the JediOutcast.exe. It is located in the Game Data folder.
