Anyways, you don;t know anything about AOM yet, so how can you say that. We know relatively alot about GB, and we can all see that it will be an awesome game. We can debate all we want about AOM being better, be we don't know. One thing i do know is that I will like GB better than AOM, and probably won't even get AOM. So, in my mind it will be the best ever, much better than AOM.

EE is short for empire earth. i haven't heard about that game so i'm going to leave that alone.

 

yes, i think swgb will be an awesome game. hoewever, it'll be fair to not place an early prediction for AoM and WC 3 b/c those games have two different perspectives for the rts genre different from swgb. eitherway, it's possible all 3 games could be the three best in rts.

i agree with VizIon, Blizzard has put in a top of the line editor so you can edit almost everything for maps... which makes WC3 look all the better, but im guessing it wont come out till summer 2002... Blizzard ALWAYS delays there games.

 

I think GB has the potential to be a very good RTS, I just hope it delivers... *remembers playing force commander and shudders*

personally i liked Starcraft better then AOK simply because of the Editor and all the different type maps that people would make and you'd play over the internet.

There are quite alot of maps for AOK as well. Personally Im not going to get WC III,EE, or AOM so GBG is going ot be the BEST RTS of ALL TIME for me!!

well, i'm planning on getting swgb, AoM, and WC 3 when they all come out so i'll see for myself how it works out. it's not fair to judge other games when they're not even being close to being released.

 

i'll say this though, the fact that i'm a star wars fan combined with this game's promising future is making this experience special.

i most likely won't get WC3 and i'm even hesitating about AoM. I'm a solid fan of 2D RTS, and both seem to be off a bit from the looks of it.

An editor makes or breaks a game, guys. AOK has the big community it has right now because of two things; great multiplay first AND... a great editor.

the only things iv heard about age of mythology or read acctually was really confusing so i think swgb will be a better game. its also unfair to campare them because there both rts games but one is in 3d and the other is in 2d it makes for two different gaming experiences therefore not comparable and since all the bugs havnt been really worked out of the 3d system yet im going to say gb will play better and it has star wars i mean that makes it kick AoM but right away:D

ensemble will work the bugs out of the 3d system and will make it a playable game with decent gameplay but swgb appeals to 3 audiences star wars AoK and the RTS fans it should be one of the best atleast

i heard about that AoM gameplay as well. in fact, isn't the game based around heroes rather than large masses of units?

 

however, ensemble studios is behind the works and they made AoK and are the backbone for swgb. i wouldn't necessarily count them out yet.

 

do any of you remember when initial reports of swgb didn't look so bright b/c gameplay was off and that unit scale was horrendous? my point exactly.....

I don't know that there will be a whole lot of competition for GB. AoM is kinda messed with the 3D and stuff. It seems to me that it's like a supposed to be a mod for FoCom gone terribly wrong almost. And Warcraft III? Well, that's definately out. Only 2 measely races. i know only one person that wants that over GB. I think GB will hit the shelves and make a first class appearance, selling millions of copies. But that's me. Hopefully I'm right.

You are right Lord JayVislon that SWGB was kinda clunky at first, but this game has had loads of potential from the start, plus its done nothing but get better and add more...bigger units, more units and such where as Warcraft 3 has only show less and less as time goes on. Less races, it started with 6, then 5, then down to 4. It started with good gameplay then went back to Warcraft, Warcraft 2, Starcraft, Red Alert, Dune, and just about any other RTS style of game-play.

To me GB will be the best because I'm running a PII 350 mhz and 4mb VRAM.So GB will probably be like the only strategy game that runs on my computer.

If the gameplay is good, the graphics shouldn't really matter. I.E. - Pong, missle command.....

 

Maybe the gameplay will be soooooo perfect the graphics won't matter.......right..........sure....hopefully......
