LainTora Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 In my server config file, I have the "sv_maxrate" set to "10000". But when checking the server status, sometimes several players are listed at 25000, while others only at 4000. Three questions: 1) Is this the correct setting to help "even out" use of bandwidth amongst players, or is there something else? 2) What is the correct command for "sv_maxrate" in the server config file (spelling, case sensitivity, quotes/no quotes, etc.)? (How should it be typed?) 3) Even if the setting is setup correctly, is it that sometimes incorrect numbers are displayed? Thank you for any assistance.
MatrixCPA Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 1) Yes, the sv_maxrate setting is used to set an upper limit on bandwidth use 2) Just like you have it, sv_maxrate. Although, I believe that case sensitivity is not an issue and sv_maxRate would work just as well. 3) The rates shown in the status display are simply what the clients have set on their end. The lower of their rate or the sv_maxrate is what is actually used.
