Dedicated 1.03 win/Linux Servers

I just updated my machine running my JK2 server with the new 1.03 patch. I'm using the 1.02c jk2Ded win32 server and when i tried to start it after applying the patch it told me jk2Ded has generated errors...whats with that? Is there something i'm doing wrong or do all server admins have to wait for the 1.03 win32/linux updates?

UPDATE:I answered my own question and checked the dedicated servers FAQ thread, and came up with this:

make a shortcut to jk2mp.exe and add the string of cmds for launching a server with it, and that will work. ie: c:\Jediknight\Gamedata\jk2mp.exe +set dedicated 2 +set net_port 28070 +set net_ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx +set net_noudp 0 +set net_noipx 1 +exec server.cfg

Of course, that only works for winblows. They should release the ded server binaries soon. Otherwise, there won't be as many places for players to go. I'm sure that the 1.02x servers will still be populated until more people find out about the update.

easy solution for you is to burn a copy of it. That's what I did. I figure that it's the same as having the dedicated binary

noipx means "don't use ipx" and noupd means "don't use udp". For the most part, you'll find udp the better choice. In some cases, it's "easier" to setup an ipx network than a tcp/ip one. Thus, you might want to force the server to use one protocol or the other.
