muh2o
Was actually supposed to see it last night AND this morning, but the print didn't arrive until this morning (w/security guard attached!). Great film. Will satisfy every Star Wars fanatic. stunning visuals. Incredible effects. Decent story (although somewhat confusing at times - ie: the title?). It's too bad Lucas decided to film with digital cameras. It's obvious that the graininess (sp?) is due to these cameras. It's not too distracting, but very obvious. A few quick notes: 1) You will never look at Yoda the same way...ever! 2) CP30 was a comedian before becoming a translator. 3) Awesome tie-ins to previous episodes. Star Wars is back on track. I always thought EPI was a great film. I think it's even better after this one.

I always like EP1 too. I know alot of people bashed the movie but I have the DVD and it is a good movie. I had read somewhere that Lucas Was filming all digital. I think he should have waited till the 3rd movie to use it because I think the technology is not quite there yet. =(

TheDarkSide
It's too bad Lucas decided to film with digital cameras. It's obvious that the graininess (sp?) is due to these cameras. It's not too distracting, but very obvious. A few quick notes: Did you see it on a digital light projector? From what I've heard from Celebrations II, it is simply unbelievable. I wouldn't doubt that in the conversion process from digital to film like what would be required for most theaters there would be some distortion or graininess. There are only something like 80 DLP theatres in North America. Check here http://www.dlp.com to see if theres one close to you. Luckily, I am about an hours drive away from Plano TX, and have my tix awaiting me for a supreme digital viewing experience!! I can't wait!!!! TDS PS I too am really pysched that I've yet to see a bad review. I remember this time (t-minus a week) from Ep I, reviews were pretty much like "wellllll.....it's good, but ya know nothing is ever as good as the hype". *shudder*

nattydred
tie ins? i hate those Just make a story stand up on its own. He doesnt have to do crazy crap like Darth Vader invented c3po!!! Thats the kind of tie in thats pointless.
muh2o
just wait. they are not pointless and have everything to do with AOTC. one of them in particular takes up a decent chunk of the film, but for the most part they fly by pretty quick.
Zindell
No offense but I hate you, It's killing me that the movie is still a week away. and you got to see it already

What sense is there in making it look fantastic on 80 screens, and look below average on 3000? Like I said it doesn't detract too much. Really the beginning you notice it more. I actually had to open a brand new theater the night Episode I opened. I worked 100+ hour weeks, and didn't get to see the film until a week after it opened. I consider this just payback! I have a feeling the VHS is going to be cool. But the DVD is going to knock our socks off. I already researched it and I got 1 DLP theatre in Orlando.. CANT WAIT FOR THE 16th!! colonel_stryker
I like Episode I as well, except for the unforgiveable Jar-Jar Butt-Munch. I've read one review of Episode II that had a lot of good things to say (especially about Yoda) except about the acting of Hayden Christenson and Natalies Portman. toolboi
Ive read 2 reviews of it, 1. Some lard ass idiot who also compared blade 2 to eating a chick out. He loved it. 2. Something awful's movie critic who always says that everything is bad. However the comparison of hatred for this movie and for most is rather astounding and makes you realize that he REALLY didnt like it.
