SAiNTx
After a week of playing 1.3 I have concluded it is a tough and new experience to learn. Its challenging. I would like to address some peoples comments about 1.2. One, many people on this forum said blocking was impossiable, it was random, etc. Wrong. I personally could block very well. With patience I could walk backward and it would be hard for them to hit me. I do simple counters. I personally only play in Duel servers with No force. Thats the only thing I play. Of course I got really pissed at DFA Spammers, but hey its gonna happen. No matter what you do, no matter what you do, there will always be exploits. From the DFA on RED its now the Back swing on 1.3 I personally feel that 1.2 had actually more control then 1.3 Seriously. I could time my swings etc. I heard some people saying how they could control there parries and blocks. Man I wish I could do that in 1.3 About the "whining" This is my first time posting a complaint. I deserve to post a complaint since I payed for this game. Now people say "Why you only post complaint, post suggestions to help" I totally agree. The difference from a whiner and a complainer is that a complainer would post the possible solutions. And a whiner would just whine. So heres my solutions for some. Which I personally had problems with. 1. Tone down the backslash damage. 2. Allow strategic blocking. Thats all my complaints basically. NewBJedi said the most truthful words. "Let the mod community change the gameplay, and devolpers fix the bugs" Do I feel that they changed the gameplay too much? Yes sadly I do. Will I sulk and whine about it? No. I will learn to adjust. But it will take me a while. A lot of my old tactics is gone... I believe Raven should just fix the bugs and add levels And features like that chat thing, really cool. But dont change the mechanics of the game. Oh I will say that Raven should get a thanks for doing a Patch. Either good or bad. Many companies, release the game and forget it.

Lord Sokar
Excellent post dude. I may be a little more extreme than you in my dislike for this patch, but you make alot of excellent points. If the FEEL of the yellow stance is what it was, I would be so very happy. The swings use to seem so much more fluid and controlled, now it's a jerky mess. Sure, it looks real good, but it's just too much blocking now. Not to mention some tacky new exploits that make DFA seem minor. No, this wasn't an improvement, even though it adds some nice touches such as text chat boxes. I don't care a thing about watering down the guns or forcepowers, I'm typically a NF saber only player (which is where this game really is unique), they can even keep DFA locked down, but changing the feel of swings and spins, etc? It happened to fast after the game had been out to long.
Zek
Blocking is the rule now, not the exception. Yes, this means it's easy to block; lightsabers block eachother, and a Jedi's reflexes makes that easy. However, getting past this is also very easy if you know how. I hit people now almost as easily as I did in 1.02, except the whole fight is much more interesting now since there's another factor. Something should be done about flagrunners in CTF games though, since they're much too hard to kill, but other than that I think the new saber system works fine in all the gametypes. Demise_SOK
I can't stand the new saber system- the auto-blocking and the reduction in damage to saber stances. Fights are taking hella-long, by that I mean people I used to dispatch in 2 or 3 swings because maybe they haven't played as long as I have now are a pain in the ass to kill. I used to have alot more fun kicking ass and taking names on newer players and relishing beating the ones that are a bit more experienced. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't that usually the 'rite of passage' for multi-player FPS games like this? You get your ass kicked until you figure out how to counter. Also, the new 'bent-over jedi' running around looking for a 'backstab' move is ruining the game for me. DFA spammers never bothered me since the move is easily counterable by moving out of the way or DFA'ing the person who was spamming the move. Unfortunately, the 'bent jedi' with auto-block seems impervious to attacks and just keeps moving til they get in position to backstab. With a quicker saber stance like medium stance this move is super deadly and people are still racking up massive amounts of kills by spamming it- one of the central complaints I had heard about DFA. SAiNTx
Thanks guys. I believe that the Back slash does need to be worked on, but I think it can be avoided. Hit and Run technique is what I mostly use. Make a jab and jump back. I use all of the techniques from each stance. So its pretty neat. I believe you said it Zek, in a complaint thread that you could hit the saber and parry it off and control the way you hit. If you can do that man I am damn impressed. Though I still think they changed the gameplay a bit too much.
