Rommel
Hey all, Here's an interesting question: Will there be taxes for whatever faction you join? Better yet can player cities impose taxes on npc venders based there? Will there be tarriffs for imported goods on other planets!! Gaalgoth save me!! Darth Maxx
I wouldn't know. Do they have to pay taxes in the universe? Didn't thought so...
Lord Helmet
well that brings up another question will there be banks or courtrooms...i doubt it
arguile
i think taxes in a player made city are actually a good idea. if some punk wants to be a serial killer and starts shootin up rodians everywhere, there could be a treasury built up to put a bounty on him. A BIG BOUNTY which would probably attract people outside the city. also, the mayor of the town could use the taxes to organize like a parade (to give those dancers something to do...). i think itd be cool if there was a way for the mayor to invite a special character (like an important imperial) to be the reason for the celebration. all using a few tax dollars from everyone. Darth Maxx
That means there will be tax controllers needed, too. And if you have connections... ^^ knowhumsayin'?

Gaalgoth
I think that I heard somewhere that you can implement taxes in your cities, but I'm not sure of that. It would be cool though....In our city we could really rive out the competition.
setsuko
Implementing taxes in your city would be very important, if you think of it. Being the mayor of a city would mean that you spend most time not running around on quests and collecting money and riches. Tax incomes would be a perfect way to be able to stay in town, and yet do the required "mayorly duties", such as building defences, contracting entrepreneurs and give away subsidies. Without taxes, the mayor would have to spend all his time outside the city, trying to scramble enough creds for that new razorwire at the south gate. Gaalgoth
Exactly. And if my PA gets it's own city, our members might just get a little cut back on the taxes.....we'll have tot alk with whoever become the mayor though.
MikeC
I'm 98% certain I read a while back that player run cities can leavy taxes as well as making other laws.

Gaalgoth
The Associates.....It's the one I made for the forum people. You all need to join. It's not like normal PA's, it's an underground one. All the members are from here, and we're all different professions and we just help each other out. You've all heard me talk about it.
