Custom Skins

is there an option or a command to put on the server so that if someone has a "custom" downloaded skin others can see it?

From what I understand, and I'm not sure about this, but you need two things. First, the server has to be NON-PURE, and 2nd the other players need that skin installed to see it.

 

Having it NON-PURE allows the player to use the skin - but only he will see it unless another player has it installed. They don't have any feature which downloads the skins to other players.

I run a pure server and skins work fine,,,, the only thing thats needed is, the sever must have the skin installed in base directory,,,

then all clients that also have the skin in their base directory can see the skin,, clients without the skin just see one of the normal skins.

so theres no way to make it so that the clients have to "download" from the server that skin?? and have the skin upload to server to make it available to download?

no,, only maps

You are correct, David. Only maps are automatically downloaded to a client and even then only if both the server and the client have been set to allow downloads.
