Wow... AotC sucked

I suppose Star Wars fans are predetermined to love the next iteration of their all-time favorite saga, but the fact remains for me that EP2 was every bit as flat and uninvolving as the Phantom Menace stinker was last year.

I'm not sure what aspect of Star Wars history George Lucas is trying to express with the limp, monotone dialogue in his past two movies, but it doesn't make for a very interesting ride. To be honest, I could really give a whip about what happens to any of these "characters." I want another Han Solo, another Leia, another Lando--not some slap-stick kiddie-pleaser like Jar Jar, but simply a character with a bit more personality than a sack of cabbage. I only finished watching AotC a little over an hour ago, and yet I can't for the life of me think of even one quotable, memorable line from the movie. What happened to the spirit of the original trilogy, George?

In short: the Force is weak with this one...

you know, I read reviews about TPM before it came out 3 years ago and ignored the fact that nearly all of them said that the movie was basically a marketing gimic and etc. I thought to myself "well they just think that because they aren't die hard starwars fans". I had to eat my own words after seeing it. They were right.

So I'm a little more open minded about this one, I am going to leave to watch it in a few hours and I'm not expecting anything this time, I have heard lots of good reviews, and Fnord, you are the first person I have heard to say it sux. I'm not saying it means anything to argue about, but I'm just going to keep my mouth shut till I watch it. It's almost like I am waiting for somebody to just say "it sucked".

F this, Im going to go wait in line now, later dudes.

I think the problem with AOTC and the rest of the prequel triology lies in the CG effects . Sure its state of the art , blah blah blah . Ive seen the making and all i see are friggin blue screen! Yo! we gotta find a forrest to shoot the scene! No prob , We got blue screen. We gotta hire puppteers to control Yoda . We got blue screen!

So now u dont get the feeling of truly hand crafted props and funny muppets-esque characters on screen . U got blue screen!

I saw the movie only a couple of hours ago and I thought that it was good in a Star Wars kind of way. That's all I'm gonna say, all the people that I saw it with was pleased with it, not one of them are really die hard fans either.

Well, we're just a tad self-righteous now, aren't we? I'm sure you're as much a stranger to me as I am to you, flux. And I assure you, your disregard for my opinions... do not matter much to me. :p Though you apparently cared enough to post in the first place. I wonder why?

Ahh... The time you've spent here, is it? You'd think it would be intelligent posts that earns one respect, not time spent here, and not post count. While intelligent posts and time spent here may go hand in hand in some cases, in your case, it does not.

I certainly hope that you are not respected here, if all of your posts are like that. Instead of flaming, why don't you make an intelligent post? And if it's not going to be intelligent (entirely likely) at least make it on topic. That came out of the blue. Use a worthwhile argument to prove your point, instead of simply saying "I'm a veteran, you're a newb, what you say doesn't matter, since I've been here longer."

It's stupid, and laughable.

Anyway, back on topic.

I disagree with you, Fnord. I thought AOTC was very entertaining, and for the most part, pretty good.

Granted, some parts were cheesy, and some of the romance scenes were a tad bit... blah, but overall I thought it was pretty good.

While it is bothersome that George Lucas has aimed these, AOTC less than The Phantom Menace, last few movies at kids, and that the characters aren't as memorable as the previous ones, I still think that the movies were good.

I didn't think the acting was horrendous, in fact, I thought it was alright. I also thought that the Anakin/Amidala relationship was fairly involving, and I actually got to caring about what is going to happen to them in Episode III. I also find that Anakin is a pretty interesting character, though I don't imagine, given the circumstances, it would be hard to amke him interesting.

What with his constant battle not only with his foes, but also trying to control his anger and rage and whatnot. I thought that made him interesting, and made him less predictable, as he won't always be rational, and sometimes he might just snap and do something insane.

While I can, sort of, see where you're coming from, I disagree.
