making pk3 files? plz help

Hi,

I just finished makin a skin and was trying to follow a tutorial on how to put together a pk3 file and it said so much that it confused what i thought wuld be a simple thing. Does anyone know of a easy to follow pk3 tutorial or canquicky explain it in a quick simple way? Thanks

hmm....i got it into a pk3 file and put it in the base folder but it won't show up as a selectable skin when i tested it ingame. anyone know what i am doing wrong?

PK3s aren't too difficult. Here's what you need to do:

 

First, create a new folder somewhere like on your Desktop. Name it Models

Next, go into the Models folder and create a new folder within, name it Player

Next, go into the Player folder, and copy your SkinName folder into there.

Next, go back down to your desktop and select your Models folder. Right click, and if you have WinZip or WinRar, it should give you the option to add to archive. I prefer WinRar for pk3 files (you can get it at download.com). Once you've created a new zip of the models folder, which will contain all the sub folders and files, rename it to Whatever.pk3. Put it in your Base folder.

Start a new Multiplayer Server, make sure it is not set to Pure Server. You should now be able to use the skin.

hmm..my model loads into the game but the torso dosn't show up(everything else does)....sigh..i have no end to problems lol
