Rem Arcaw Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 When I host a game the only computers that can see my game are computers on my home network...how can my friends find my game over the internet? How do you tell the game to host via the internet instead of Lan? Any suggestions? thank you
MatrixCPA Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 Are you running the dedicated server binaries or using the multiplayer game? If you're using the multiplayer game you need to run it dedicated or just give your ip to your friends and have them connect that way. If they can't connect by ip (either way) then you probably have firewall/router issues which may not be easily solved. If none of these are the case, we'll need more info to be able to help you--server app used, config files, startup script/command line, firewall/router situation, etc.
MatrixCPA Posted May 19, 2002 Posted May 19, 2002 You can add it as a favorite or drop down the console and type: /connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port Just substitute the ip for the x's and the port for port.
