Sithlord I love the Darth Vader Model you made, so maybe you can help us here. Alot of us want to convery MP skins to SP skins and we are having a terrible time. Can you or someone, please describe a detailed account on how to conver MP skins to SP skins. Dont expect us to know what you know, so please describe everything. Then maybe we can make a txt file or make this post sticky so that everyone can read it and understand. Help us now so we dont have to keep posting the same questions on SP skins in Jedi Knight II.

The first thing we have to know to answer your question is whether you mean converting multiplayer models to single player non-playable characters, or if you mean playing as that multiplayer model. Are you trying to replace a character in Single Player (Desann, for example?), or are you trying to play as Darth Vader or someone?

I know there are certain files available for download at jediknightii.net that replaces certain non-playable characters in the game, but I for one (not sure about anyone else) want to replace the the single player kyle (the one playable one) with a multiplayer skin anakin from ep2 (that oonly works in MP).

I want to convert a MP player skin to replace SP kyle and only kyle. A lot of posts are asking this question, so why dont we end it here and then we can create a guide or make a sticky post.

MP skin conversion to SP skin to replace kyle. Thats the only thing I need to know.

This has actually been answered several times in the recent past (once or twice by me, even :) )

Here's what you do:

First, open the .pk3 file in Winzip or WinRar. Unzip it all to a temporary location.

Next, go into the Models folder, then the Player folder, and rename the SkinName folder to kyle.

Now go into the kyle folder, and open the .skin files using Notepad. Change the path from SkinName to kyle (ie models/player/kyle) for all the lines in the .skin file.

Go back down to the temporary location that you unzipped the pk3 file to, find your models folder, and Zip it (I like WinRar for this). once you've zipped it, rename the .zip file to .pk3, place it in your Base directory, and you should now be able to play as whatever model you wanted. You'll probably need to start a brand new game with the new model, though, cause throwing a new model in often causes funny things to happen like LIghtsabers sticking in your leg and guns floating behind you :)

Bradfu does the .glm file play any role in who is replaced? Or can that file be deleted sucessfully without effecting the conversion? I had another question to ask, but I cant remember at this time. Thanks for responding though. Ill try it after I get home from work tommorrow.

Why surfs don't work in sp. I mean, they do, just about all models have them. But trying to alter what shows is like bleeding stones. I tried to use the Ladybrena in sp, and none of the surfs showed up! I usually can't get rid of surfs, but this is insane! Help!

BradFu, sorry to bother you with this question again, but I followed your instructions and I had some problems. The texture of the skin didn't quite work, hid face was all messed up and his legs and arms were a wierd colour. It worked fine in multiplayer, what could I have done wrong?
