It's looking better now! :p (and it won't be black) :) The skin texture is like the one he has on is head, the scale bumps things. But I never saw a nude rodian before so I don't know. You are right though it looks a little like soda ... I will try making bigger scales and see what happens... Everything except the skin(maybe the skin too) is just temporary...
