Drepanon
Anyone had this problem? The server is great but every so often a momentary pause in play occurs. It seems to be related to players connecting. I even tried to disable maxping settings to see if it was the screening of pings. Any help is appreciated SERVER SPECS: Dell Precision 330 P4 1.5ghz 512 RAM 80gb Ultra SCSI T1 connection

MatrixCPA
Try adding this to your client config: seta cg_deferPlayers "1" That will let you "wait" to load new models/skins that weren't in use when you first joined the server until you hit TAB--or whatever key you have bound to show the scores. At least that way you can choose when to "accept" the momentary lag.
Drepanon
i will try that. I do infact have defer models off... so it just might be the problem. Thanks
geronimo27
It's unfortunate though that that is only a client side command, and a server side forced wait doesn't exist. i have run a jk2 server on both win2k and linux, and the player join lag is there in both OSes. MatrixCPA
Well, if all the clients have it set to defer, then they won't experience the problem. The only time you really need to worry is if the server is throwing out hitch warnings when people join.
Drepanon
i suspect the problem only multiplies with every custom skin you add... bummer. I am considering removing the custome skins and perhaps people will change skins less often.
