What will make the Jedi foes to the (former) republic ?

Read about the thesis that Dooku, by telling Obi-wan about Sidious cntrolling the senat, causes the Jedi to distrust the republic.

 

So far I have no good own idea, why the Jedi will be hunted down under the eyes of public, while the empire is not that stable so far.

 

Any suggestions ?

That much is clear at least, but it could have been done without the caps...besides, the scene before the last scene. Palapatine checking HIS army out

I don't think Palpatine would simply order his Clones to wipe out the Jedi... there might be millions of clonetroopers. but there are a trillion citizens on Coruscant, alone. He needs the people behind him in the purge. I'm guessing Palpatine creates a scandal where the Jedi are accused of using mind control on some delegates in the senate. Palpatine is behind it, but he shifts the blame to the Jedi and claims they are "interferring in democratic process". They are banned from the senate floor and Palpatine stirs up enough prejudice to get the Senate behind him in having the Jedi order disbanded. Then the Clones and Vader wipe out the Jedi.

It must be something like this.

It would be absolutly idiotic of Palpatine just to order the clones to kill the Jedi.

That would cause hundrets of Riots, because the Jedi are feared and respected throughout the galaxy.

His methods are more subtile, just like the creation of the Sepratists movement.

 

Because it is somehow, HIS clone army he could start of his own putsch against the defendless Republic and gain power.

 

But he wanted the people behind him. And that's exactly what he needs to wipe out the Jedi.

 

Palpatine is too clever. I don't think we will see some kind of putsch in Ep3. He just transforms the Republic into the Empire. Just the same way Hitler did it.

To appear legal, is the main part of their strategy.

 

Everything else would set up a rebellion too early.

 

So my question was: How do Palpatine manage, that the public believes the Jedi are dangerous.

 

So far I like Jedi-Monks Idea with the mindtrick.

Remember what Count Dooku tells Obi-Wan? The Jedi will denounce the Senate. Palpatine will denounce the Jedi for treason against the Republic. All Hell breaks loose.
