Counter for Pull+Backstab?

Okay, I decided to try playing a Merc (with NO force powers) on a Merc vs. Jedi server today. I had a great time, but I found that I was killed again and again by pull+backstabbing Jedi. Is there any way to counter this if you don't have any force powers ? It's pretty annoying to be continually chased, pulled, then backstabbed (i.e. killed) by a Jedi. The only effective counter I found was the ysalamari, but alas this isn't much of a counter considering there is only one (I think) per map and they don't last very long.

if you choose not to use force powers at all then this move will kill you everytime. you can "try" to backkick or roll away, but it depends on the ping time of the person your fighting and your ping to the server. the higher your ping the slower you will get up.

 

you cannot block the move without forcepower.

You only have one choice (one I think Mercs in the SW universe would follow as well)...

 

Keep your distance. Snipe when you can, but do NOT engage in close quarters combat AT ALL. You WILL get killed.

 

Use ranged weapons. Alt fire on the flak cannon is good, it's tougher to push back because there are two projectiles. Alt fire on the Repeater is good too, but can be pushed back at you.

Geez I dont get why you will want to play No Force but Weapons on..

 

If you dont want to be a victim for pull/backstab, you keep your distance and dont get involved with any fight at all with this guy pulling/backstabbing you (if weapons are disabled), or you have to use Absorb or Pull/Push to counter his Pull-move.

Otherwise you "deserve" to be punished that way

 

This game is great, but people will constantly exploit holes and unbalances to get high score and think they are very skilled.

Be quick on the jump button. It will get you out of the backstab most of the time.

I suppose I just like the challenge. Also, I like putting myself in "bounty hunter-like" role.

turn on level three protect when you get on the ground, that should block most of it....and use absorb when you aren't on the ground

Those would work, but I am talking about a Jedi vs. Merc server. If you play a merc you have NO force powers, but can use guns.

well then stay back, maybe camp out in the ysalimari area......just basically stay out of the push/pull range

You want to win against Jedi in a Jedi vs. Merc server? EXPLOSIVES! Trip mines, detpacks, thermal dets, rockets! Not to mention the almighty DEMP! Jedi coming too close? DEMP his ass! Jedi about to pull you? Arm a thermal detonator and kamikazi!
