Aerys
I started a thread where people could share the IP addresses of punks who deliberately tried to crash servers, yet the thread appears to be gone. What possible reason could have caused this thread to be deleted? Its not as if I were posting people's names and addresses on the internet, but sharing information with other server admins that could help protect against hackers and server crashers. MatrixCPA
I didn't delete it--not that I could have anyway. My guess is the admins didn't want peeps ips being made public. *shrug*
Dilvish
I would imagine that as the Powers that Be may not know you or your veracity, they followed a general policy of removing all posts such as that. Why? There is no 100 percent rock solid way of proving that what people post as "crashers" and "cheaters" are truly that: they could be "This guy owned me so I'm going to make sure he's banned from all the servers I can!" or "This guy dumped me so I'm going to go up and make sure he's banned from all the servers I can." mInk3nine
i think matrix is right. would you like your IP posted regardless if you cheat or not? There are other things people can do with your IP besides just banning you from a game server. think about it...
Aerys
Yeah, you're right. We need some other, trusted way to share Admin info.
