Guardian Omega Posted May 25, 2002 Posted May 25, 2002 Well, on the vis thing. Should I caulk everything except the sky box?
Pseudopath Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 As far as I understand things it is preferable to "caulk" all non-visable surfaces or build as a "caulk" then texture... (the visable surfaces ) Hope that helps. - Pseudopath.
Cmdr. Antilles Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 Yeah, and make all the neccesary brushes 'detail'... do a search on google or something... I'm sick of explaining detail vs. structural brushes... Does anyone know why they disabled the search feature? Because this has been answered SOOO many times... Oy... (I'm not upset w/ you, man, don't worry. )
Pseudopath Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 I know that one!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was coz of the amount of data to be "searched". 50k+ members, their sigs, threads and posts was too much apparently. I think that not alowwing the search means, as you suggested, for more posts threads created and therefore more to search etc. So they have made a rod for their own back..... I think the search is dead, unless they get a SUPER FAST server....... hmm....... maybe not - Pseudopath.
Cmdr. Antilles Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 You can't merge brushes like you whould polys in 3ds or something.
Guardian Omega Posted May 26, 2002 Author Posted May 26, 2002 Oh I see........... Anyway I think I just damned my map, because I quit in a middle of a compile, because I got the wrong type.
Cmdr. Antilles Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 No biggie. You just have to start your compile again.

In some of the radiants the option exists. However, it is very limited and it only works if the two merged brushes together form a brush that has all the characteristics of a "legal" brush. Only used it once, to see what it does.
