Bohh
Hello all, I just got the game recently and when i go to play, the Menu (in game) the sky, and the HUD flicker non stop... i can barely tell what they are saying. I have the lastest drivers for my Video card (Geforce 3). I Noticed this also happens in Medal of Honor , a Q3 engine game as well. Any Help Would be appriciated, Bohh

Ildon
I get this problem on occasion, as well. Not often, but often enough to be very annoying. Radeon 8500 (Latest Drivers) Pentium 4 1.8 GHz ASUS P4T Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum .....only hardware I can think of that might cause problems.... El Capitan II
Yeah...I have the flickering menu and hud, as well as my screen flashing a tan color with trails and pixelation...its a mess. This only happened after Yavin, beginning with and including cut scenes. Thing is, if i switch to the menu or hud and go between them and the game, eventually it will stop temporarily. I have a NVIDIA Geforce II MX and my drivers are up to date as of 4-21-01. I don't know what else is relevant...but i'd really appreciate some suggestions even if there are no definative solutions... Cal-Gon Gin
Are you using trilinear filtering? go to http://www.reactorcritical.com and get more recent (DX8 compatable) drivers.
El Capitan II
I can't make heads or tails of Reactorcritical... the whole damn site. I feel like I have a literacy problem or something. I can't tell wtf their talkin about, what I should know, or how to get what I need. Can anyone make it simple for me? I have a geforce 2 that was in 2001 for Millenium, I was thinkin about getting their download for *TNT/GeForce Reference Windows 2000/XP-driver, version 27.70 nv2770-win2k_xp.zip - 12 March, 2002*. Don't know what it means, does or if I should have it. But I think thats my card and it says its for my system. Should I get it? Wtf is trilinear filtering and how do I get it? Where you even talkin to me? Someone please help me so i can rethink having this gun in my mouth. THX THX THX
NoodlyGod
I recall reading that many people were having problems with the newest drivers when the game was released, especially the nvidia folk. I'd go to NVidias site and browse the driver archives and try an older driver. http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=drivers The driver archive link is in small black letters towards the top left of the page. (A few inches down from the very top)

Cal-Gon Gin
Alright. If you have ME you do not want the 2000/XP drivers. You should try the 23.11 detonators for Win9x. They are stable as rocks.
Cal-Gon Gin
Sorry, I missed a few more of your questions. bi- or trilinear filtering has to do with how many passes you let your vid card make to render each frame. Essentially, with bilinear you sacrifice some image quality for speed (more frames can be produced). I play Q3 with low quality/fast rendered settings. If you are getting visual artifacts, you might try the trilinear filtering. Try the detonator drivers that are compatable with DirectX 8 first though. Apples to oranges that's the problem. teleguy
Try the console command r_ext_compiled_vertex_array 0 .
