R4-G4
Um...Sorry for da repeated question. But my problem is different than any other on the forums that I was able to uncover. Being new 'n' all, I'm not really good with models. I got alot of Jk2Radiant down, but models. And, the thing is, every time I try and load one (in this example a tree from yavin), it gives me an error message reading: Unable to open the file: "c:/program files/lucasarts/star wars jk ii jedi outcast/gamedata/base/models/map_objects/yavin/tree06_b.md3, (Further errors from this file will be ignored during the rest of this edit session) I don't know if I got the path wrong or what, or if the .md3 models themselves are in the wrong place. It won't even bring the misc_model box up untill I click a .md3 file, and when I do, it gives me the error and then only shows a red box. Does anyone know of anything that may be wrong, or can be done to help? Greatly appreciated if you could.
rolsen
You're on the right track. You have to press "n" and open the entity config window and remove the first part of the path, so that it just reades "models/blahblahblah/blahblah.md3" Now sometimes it will still just leave the little red box for the moddel, but here's what you can do. Save the map, exit JK2Radiant, and then reopen the map, the model will now be visible. Hope that helps.
sights0d
Trust me. I had the same freaking problem and if you edit the path, it should be fixed. Make sure that you include all of the middle folders. I've also noticed that once or twice I didn't even have to include the .md3 extension, it just picked it up naturally. BTW, just so that you'll know, the models are visible, but they aren't solid; in other words, you'll see them ingame, but can walk right through them. You have to put a brush with the no-draw texture (in the system textures) in the same place as the models. It looks wierd, but the no-draw won't be visible, just tangible. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Just enjoy the models for now.
King_Jay
I don't understand models at all, do I have to download them because there aren't any when I try to find them.
RichDiesal
Open up the assets0.pk3 file (should be in gamedata/base/) in some sort of archiving program... if you don't have one, go to http://www.winzip.com and get that one. All models used in the game are in the models/ subdirectories listed in the assets pk3.
